Mon projet vise à déterminer comment l’augmentation de la connectivité entre la cryosphère et les eaux douces en Arctique influence l’écologie des communautés microbiennes. Plus spécifiquement, je m”intéresse à la connectivité entre les habitats marins, terrestres et d’eau douce suite au retrait des glaciers dans la Last Ice Area, au Nord de l’Île d’Ellesmere. Afin de déterminer la contribution en micro-organismes, carbone organique dissous et en éléments nutritifs de chacun des milieux, je compte combiner diverses approches incluant des analyses biogéochimiques, limnologiques et génomiques.

My project aims to determine how the increased connectivity between the cryosphere and freshwater in the Arctic influences the ecology of microbial communities. Indeed, I am interested in the connectivity between marine, terrestrial and freshwater habitats following the retreat of glaciers in the Last Ice Area, north of Ellesmere Island. In order to determine the contribution of microorganisms, dissolved organic carbon, nutrients from each environment, I intend to combine various approaches including biogeochemical, limnological and genomic analyses.
